Battle of the Jazz's!

Mmmm that is so so good looking mmmm, I need a new bass now! The main reason I want a jazz is to cut through to play finger funk and rock. Does anyone know if a P bass could do this as well, I assumed they couldn't as well but it never hurts to get an opinion.

A P or a J will cut through the mix... but you won't really get that scooped sound with a P. You will hear more mids and bark with a P.

You really have to play both and listen to understand the differences. But either will work - just in different ways.
