BB2005 Clip: Nice!

Good stuff Anthony, you'll love that bass. I do remember that review I wrote on the BB605. It was a great bass, very versatile. I really liked the on board NE-1 as well. That eq really lets you dial in any type of tone. I have a BBN5A right now and it's also one of the better basses Yamaha has ever built. I had a TRBJP awhile back and it was tremendous as well.
I don't know why Yamaha keep discontinuing their great basses. I really don't think their current crop are as good as the older stuff with the exception of the BB2005 and some of the really higher end TRB stuff. I played a few BBNE basses and I have to say that may very well have been the best bass model that Yamaha ever produced, it was easily as good as any boutique bass out there. I have not had a chance to play the newer BBNE II as of yet.
Yamaha's mid line stuff used to be really great, why they changed is beyond me.

The change in the mid priced lineup makes no sense to me either. I can see why Yamaha backed a bit out of the top end because I don't think their highend products got the respect they deserved given their great quality. Now Yamaha is putting out mediocre mid-level gear and the highend really has no presence in most stores anymore. I understand that some stuff like the Nathan East models, is only available on special order basis.

great clips. i've always loved yamaha's TRB line. The 5 string was on my GAS list for a long time (ex-Jamiroquai Nick Fyffe clips gave me the GAS). I played a couple and what great basses they were.

I'll just say I love my MIJ BB3000MA. I assume my bass is reflective of all Japanese Yamahas, so I give 'em a big thumbs up.
