BC Rich Warlock bass

i once had a bc rich warlock platinum with p/j config.
i sell that piece of crap after 3 months.

I disagree. The warlock shape actually feels nice on bass guitar too. and i tried it with a strap and it doesn't neck dive. Maybe cause i played warlocks bit past my waist, but still, i don't feel like i have to reach the notes on the fretboard and IMO it feels much better than a thunderbird sitting down and standing up. my .02
I had a black Platinum Warlock bass that I bought around 2000 or so. Had the white binding on the body and neck and headstock. Flat slab body (no contours) and black widow headstock. If I remember correctly it had two P pickups in it. That was back in my Metal days. Should've kept that one!
Ive owned american and upper nj warlock at the same time. The nj had active 2band eq & bc rich P pups. The american was passive and had dimarzio P pups. The nj sounded better to me. The american was a good one and half inches shorter for total length. The rear body horns being shorter then the import version. As aresult the nj one was too long to fit the american ones case. I recently had a spalted maple flat top import warlock with humbucker (mm style) pups. The only passive bass ive played that I really liked sound wise. It got stolen. Was replaced with a Jackson JS3. I like the jackson better sound wise. Imo the mid and upper end BC rich imports are very very good. I see more world touring pros using the upper end imports rather then the americans anymore. Dimmu Borgir bassist played a nj import five string warlock bass for yrs before getting a soapbar pup version made.
The newer lower end basses (eagle1 and warlock 1 being the only two such I know of) are actually imo very nice for their price point. The upper end neck thru imports are also very very nice imo. Best warlock bass Ive owned sound and playability wise was the spalted maple flat top paulo, bolt on version. Slightly diff neck profile and little bit slimmer neck then previous ones Ive owned.

I own a Warlock NJ Bass and it is great. A bass is not good dependent only on the playing skill of a musician but the equipment they run their instrument through. You need to find your own sound that you personally enjoy. I play jazz as well as metal so don't let anyone tell you BC Rich is a Metal only instrument coz it just isn't true. They got tagged that only because that's the type of musician that is drawn to the incredible shapes. That being said, I'd love to own a P-Bass like Steve Harris plays. I've tried the Squire version and just didn't like the sound. \m/

So your comment is an uneducated assumption... There are posers that play fender. There are posers that play Ricky. There are posers that play Schecter. There are posers that play Jackson. There are MANY posers that play Ibanez. The question is, "Is the person who is playing a poser, or not?" I know posers that don't even play. They just like to pose for photos. It's not the bass that makes someone a poser, it is the individual behind it. My whole arsenal of basses and guitars are BC Rich and I've been playing since 97...I've met many posers.
To generalize that All people who play BC Rich are posers shows a couple different things about you...You've not been around many bands. There are many series, and many option levels. Part of the fun of BCR is modifying them anyways, upgrading pickups is always a fun mod. Have fun with your fender...
