BDDI observation

I debated over what I 'needed' to dirty up my tone just a bit.
I ended up picking up the Sans Amp BDDI Programmable.

I did this mainly to bring some life and thickness to a somewhat vanilla 'modern' sound of my Steinberger Spirit and it does that admirably.
But what it does with my Yamaha BB425x is mind boggling. Gut meet ears, ears meet gut.

Maybe I knew this before, but I certainly appreciate it more now, not much can substitute for the starting point in a signal chain.

I have and have used a BDDI for years now, its a great pedal. Especially if youre lacking in the amp dept. I recently picked up the VT bass from the same maker and I like it a little more than the BDDI. But then I got a B7K and both the sansamps came off my board haha. They are still great pedals. I am waiting until I get my bigger board up and running to out one if not both the VT and BDDI back on it, they are too good of a pedal to be collecting dust in the closet.

The BDDI is a great piece of equipment! Great as a preamp and DI! It plays nicely with other pedals as well. When I had a Rat Tail and was using another preamp, I felt it was a bit lacking in the booty department, but when I switched to the BDDI the RT had this nice thick, round bottom end!

The b7k sounds worth trying out too though...

GAS. Stahp it.

wish i could afford a b7k. :crying: played with one and when i went back to my sansamp i just stared at it hoping it would change into a darkglass lol :smug: one of these days. however, the sansamp does do wonders, especially the vt.

as an off note, if someone is really on a budget, the behringer bdi21 doesnt do a bad job. i know its really cheap but it really does do a good job as a tube emulator. food for thought. :)

Save save save!! You won't regret the purchase of the B7K. I didn't and never will :)

does darkglass have a rack mount version of their bddi pedals?

Darkglass BDDI pedals?? Darkglass doesn't make a BDDI per say. They make a preamp DI though if that's what you mean. And no, unfortunately they don't make a rack mount version of any of their stuff. I've seen a thread here where they put, I think 3, of their pedals into a rack mountable enclosure. It was a special build for someone I think. But there nothing in production. The B7K is good enough IMO :)

yeah sorry, bddi is sansamp specific correct?. behringers is bdi, eden wtdi, and etc. thanks though. just wondering. might be a good sell for them.

Yeah, it's cool. They mostly all have at least the "DI" in them for direct input or in. I think haha. I know it's direct something. Yeah, I agree about the rack mount. I don't think they ruled the possibility out but it seems like they are keeping very busy with other things. Their products are in really high demand right now. Probably will be for a bit.
