BDDI solely as DI?

My programmable BDDI has been idling for a long while now, since I found out I'm also not too much thrilled with its known over-coloring thing. I have been keeping it because although I don't use it's drive and tone, I may still need to use it in bypass, solely as a DI box (correct me if I'm wrong here, I'm sending out balanced output even if I use it in bypass mode, right?). Although most of the places I play in provide me with a DI box, I suppose I should have at least one of my own.

Anyway, I recently bought my first amp head, TC Electronic's BH250. The amp has direct balanced out feature (so as far as I understand negates the need of an additional DI box). I don't feel like I need many different tones/effects on my sound, and I believe I could add some drive with the amp's toneprint feature, if I need it. At this point, I'm not sure if I would need the BDDI for anything else, any contrary opinion would be appreciated.
