Sony MD7506's
I prefer the Sony MDR-V6, but they are close in performance.

Sony MD7506's
I did considered in ear monitors. Like the ones from Shure. I was just worried about the sound quality of the bass. Do they portray bass well?
If you want some mediocre headphones with a rapper's name attached there is nothing better. If you want good headphones they don't compare with anything in their price range.
I use Sennheiser HD280s.
I had a pair of those for a few weeks before getting the ATH M50s. They sound pretty good but are pretty uncomfortable unless you have a tiny head or something (which seems to be the general consensus on the internet as well).
I too have Beats wireless headphones but they also have the cable option, I use them for everything from listening to music to practicing my bass playing, they work fine, mine were a Christmas present from my daughter, everyone on this thread is commenting on how the bass response fatigues your ears and such, Your bass and amp have a little thing called a volume knob use it so as not to fatigue your ears...I didn't read thru the 52 posts before mine but all the same, here's my opinion:
I own a set of Beats and a set of Audio-Technica ath-M50. The Beats have their place - when listening to electronic music, or anything bass heavy. To that end, I definitely recommend them for use during practice. The M50 cans are much flatter in response. Given that they're also circumaural (they cover your entire ear) and closed-back, they have what some would call an "untrue bass response." All closed back cans have this... It's a product of the design - think of ported vs non-ported cabs. Anyway, I really love them. I use them in tracking, working quick skeleton mixes, and just for general listening at home.
IMO, either of these (or any closed back set of headphones) would be a good choice for home practice. The M50 are usually around $150 new. The Beats are significantly more expensive but they're also much louder, since they're active and noise cancelling.
Bring your phone/iPod/whatever with you to the store and try a bunch of cans with your favourite songs. Pick the one that sounds best to you... I use both the Beats and the M50 on a regular basis, depending on context. Don't let the haters steer you away from something you might like.

Beats are over rated and not natural sounding. They are an overprices consumer product designed to sell based on brand hype, much like the iPhone. For the same price you can get a very good pair of In Ear Monitors that isolate sound very well if you use the right tip. For regular over the head cans I use the Sennheiser HD 280. Comfortable, good isolation, balanced response.Anyone here use these for practice? How would you rate them? I'm looking for some new, better headphones. Right now I'm using Marshall Majors.
Thanks!
