Becoming Led Zeppelin

Hasn’t this story been told over and over for almost 60 years? Clapton quits Yardbirds…Page is given offer, declines…”but my mate Jeff”…Beck’s Bolero…”This band would go over like a lead balloon”….Samwell-Smith quits…”sure, I’m tired of sessions”…”have Dreja play bass”…Jeff rage quits…”me and Jim are over this”/“I’ll just do photography”….”take Marriott away and I’ll break your fingers”…”I’m tired of sessions as well”…BJ declines/Reid not interested, “but I know of this bloke up in the North”…”I know this drummer”…jam in the basement…”gotta fulfill some gig contracts”…Sweden…Dusty says, “my old bass player is in this band, you should check them out”…Len Zefflin…Led who?… “make them the headliners”….
Its for the young-uns!😊

Closest theater is like an hour away, dang it

Same.

only, it's by airplane 😭

Maybe this should be in the "tell me you're old, without telling me you're old" thread, but I'm still young enough that it wouldn't cross my mind that living within an hour of a hospital is a sensible luxury, yet I couldn't imagine living more than half an hour drive from a necessity like a cinema.

Led Zeppelin? Wasn't that like some kind of music band around 50 yeas ago?

I should clarify- the closest theater showing the film is about an hour away. Otherwise there are at least three multi-plexes in my immediate area, including one at a casino

Funny!
I don’t hate GVH. There’s a million bands that cop the Stones and Beatles and AC/DC and Sabbath and for some reason folks rag on them but there haven’t been many Zep styled bands recently. And LZ has been gone 45 years.

My opinion only, any young band that’s steering kids toward guitar oriented rock is OK with me.

I will definitely watch this soon. I remember seeing The Song Remains The Same dozens of times at the midnight movies!
In no way was I bagging on GVF, they have a great sound that evokes Led Zeppelin without, at least as far I have heard, in-artfully quoting them or stealing their riffs.

"The sound is better than DVD by a mile."

Not sure what you listened to DVD with but through a good quality Stereo or Home Theater system the remastered music sounded great along with CD version
With all due respect, I have heard DVD on nice home systems and my nice studio monitors as well and it is wonderful. I have also heard the soundtrack for Becoming Led Zeppelin in an IMAX theatre and that is a singular and gloriously recommended experience.

If you like DVD you will LOVE this soundtrack in a theatre.

I felt that 16mm footage blown up to a six-story tall 65/70mm could be a little much at times, visually. The film grain was as big as my hand.

I will be happy to go to a regular cinema to watch it again. I would make sure that the theatre that I do choose has great sound first.

Don’t move to Alabama. Here It still is for a lot more people than it should be. We are losing hospitals at an alarming rate and just read an article today detailing pending massive cuts in research dollars that is going to accelerate the demise of even more hospitals. But what the hey, rugged individualists, only need a big knife, one of ma’s old aprons to tear into bandages, and a bullet to cauterize the wound; and to bite on while the burning powder exorcizes the ill humors.

With both the hospital, and the university in my area - both were rated as outstanding.

Then budgetary cuts (due to poor rating) in surroundings areas meant that facilities / services etc in those areas were incorporated into my local area - in an attempt to artificial increase their rating, and thus budget.

In both cases it had the opposite effect. Local services suffered, the rating was dragged down, and budgets were cut.

Sorry, I had no intent to offend.
