We change the sheets every third day, sometimes more often depending on um...environmental conditions.


Fresh sheets are a wonderful thing.

I had a roommate once who never put sheets on his bed for the first 2 years he lived in my apartment. He then moved to sleeping on the couch exclusively until I told him that he was ruining the couch and had to return to his bed (which by that point had become a project to uncover from piles of whatever.

Once he got a girlfriend he got sheets and started using/washing them with a frequency of every 4 months or so.

Once a week, unless "gritty", and nothing less than 500 thread count. Come on, what are we, cave dwellers?!?!?!? I think my parents use 150 grit.

At least weekly. My friend at school never washes his and it is just rank anywhere near them. This kid will shower like 3x a day, but does not wash his sheets.

Probably once every two weeks or so, I like to shower before bed so it's always a clean body hitting them, they stay fresh much longer. Problem is the dirtying we do while in the sheets.

We have a few sets that get cycled during the week, usually twice. They all get washed on Sundays. We change the comforter out during the year depending on the weather.

I should also mention that the schedule we are currently on is thanks to my wife. I don't remember being so conscientious about it as a single guy.

I once sold a mattress to a smokin'-hot belly dance instructor who was part of my extended circle of friends. I amused myself and a couple of my buddies by mentioning a few times that she was sleepin' in my bed, these days.
