Like Mikey, I've seen some threads go "dead end" this way.

Just do what you're gonna do, don't take anything you see here personally.... Nobody is gonna make you build a 5 string, if you're wanting to build a fanned 7. It's all up to you.

I still have one or two years of high school left, so I'm not going anywhere. And I am serious about this, it's something I really want to do. And it's much easier to fulfill than my other dream.

I don't go easy on myself. If I can't do something, I try until I can. I'm stubborn and persistent.

:) Maybe you can start collecting tools, check out some secondhand shops or carbootsales, buy a few things.
I found some nice wood on the local auctionsite, it does not have to be expensive.
That way you are on your way of doing your thing, you stay focused. :)

This. People are just getting rid of tools on craigslist and paw shops like it's no tomorrow. I'm in the process of trying to obtain a 6" joiner! :)

I'm still not sure if I should use one or two truss rods, and what truss rods I should use.

I'm also wondering if there are any books beside Hiscock's and Koch's that I should read.

I'm going with individual bridges. Any recommendations?

I also think I have decided on a body shape, I'll try to make a sketch and upload it.

I use these, they are the same one's Best Bass Gear sells for $18-$20 each.

It's also a good place to get you truss rod(s).
