Behringer amps

My first amp was a Beringer (I forget the letters)3000. It was plenty loud (but rated at 300w also) and did not let me down (I bought it used btw) but I never really pushed it that hard and I did not keep it that long.

After that I bought an amp head. My first cab was also a Beringer 410. It blew a driver before I was done the first warm-up. I took it back and the store exchanged it for a different unit. Good to have a retailer to back you up. Then I decided to read online reviews. Lesson learned. There were a lot of bad experiences with that particular 410 (Aluminum cones I think?) cab. Read first, buy later.

That's the BX3000T 300 watt predecesor to the current BX4500. Anyway I've had two personal experiences with Behringer bass amps.

My first experience was when I got the BX3000T because it was cheap (I think maybe $149 at the time) and I was having issues with my Ampeg SVT-3 Pro. I ran the Behringer with an Ampeg 8x10, and actually the band I was in liked the way it sounded more than the 3 Pro. I don't remember if I sold or returned the 3 Pro, either way I ended up keeping the Behringer and gigging with it for a while. I got rid of it when the band broke up and I kinda put playing bass on hold for a while.

A couple years later when I returned to bass playing I went to go get an amp to use for kinda acoustic gigs and practice. I ended up liking the BX1200, it was a good price and sounded ok. Anyway it broke somewhere between the store and me getting it home. Ended up returning it and getting something different.

As far as the cabs go they've always seemed extremely overly heavy for what they are. Now days with some of the other companies making lower end lines they aren't really much cheaper either.

My experience with Behr. Bass gear:-
The local hire co. has the 450w gold front amp & it's been used & abused for over 6 yrs still going fine.
I've got a bass v-amp, 2nd one I've had. 1st one failed, they came to the party re warranty & replaced it. I don't use it much, but it still goes & sounds pretty good.
Sure I've seem a few of their products fail, but that's true of many brands.

I know a bassplayer who is in a small church band that uses a 35 watt bass amp and he has no problem being heard. The church size is about 60, I said it was small.

ok thanks. i actually got it yesterday when i came home from school. i was very suprised. i ordered it Tuesday night and it said that it would take 2 days to ship out of the warehouse and 3-7 days to get to my house. (added to the 2 days). i know im getting off topic but i ordered it on buy.com so if you ever get anything i would suggest trying the site. it sounds great btw and is definitely loud enough. love the features to. ill try to take your advice on how to work and get to know this.
