Behringer Bass V-AMP Pro - Part II: Get On Back, Jack, Do It Again...

Great thread. Quick question. I am running a Vamp Bass Pro into a Crown Drive Core with Hartke cabinets. When I am playing in L1 - everything works fine. When I go into L3, the input clips and the tones are all distorted. No settings have been changed when switching from L1 - L3.

Any ideas?

In reply to your question, I believe this may be releated to your V-AMP's "LIVE EQ" settings that kick-in when you switch into L3 mode.

At the point when you switch to L3 mode, take a look down at the BASS, MID and TREBLE knobs and ensure they are set to 12-noon and not maxed-out (causing the wild level increase and distortion)

Should this not work, perform a system reset and then use my Quick Start Guide to get started again on a clean slate (links for both are available on this thread)

I just realized that after being a subscribing member to this thread for a looooong time now (months? years?) and having poured over post after post and having used my bass v-amp pro as a huge part of my recorded tone for years, I have never asked for a club membership number!

Could I please have one? are they still being given out? am I like waaaaaay too late? LoL

I'm probably picking up an Ampeg pf-350 head and a traynor 12 + horn cab in a couple of days, so will be changing to running the v-amp into the fx return jack on the amp. Should be interesting :-D

If anyone has any advice for that setup from someone who has previously gone xlr-out to a DI for quite some time now out of the v-amp, I'd be much obliged please.

Yet another BVP user here !

One question, can I quickly copy my A preset to B C D E ? I havent found out how do this.



Basically, I use just the SVT amp sim ( no cabs ) and have tweaked EQ etc to suit. Now I want that preset copied to the other four on bank 1, so i can then just add flanger to B, OD to C, Chorus to D etc.

When you have the patch you want to save open, just press and hold the preset key (A-E) you want to save it under for about 2 seconds and it will overwrite the patch previously saved in that position.

Or, if you don't have it already, download Behringer's editing software. It makes it so much easier to edit and save patches.

Thinking of picking up a used V-Amp Pro. They seem to go for under $100 with shipping.

I've been reading through these threads and noticed that there seems to be two versions of the firmware.

I have a few questions.

1. Is it worth it to get a used one?
2. When did they change the firmware (notice there are datecodes on the backs of these)
3. Does it really matter which firmware version you get?

I've been reading through the two threads and I've been compiling the "Tips" and the help documents.

So far I have up to Tip #17, the startup guide and the amp model demos (which are great by the way - thank you!)

Did I find all of the tips?

I am looking for a very basic solid bass tone with maybe a couple of the standard bass effects on rare occasion (chorus, octave, flange, drive) much like Charlie stated his interests were in some of the early posts.

Really looking forward to getting this setup. I am currently just running my bass with on-board pre into an ART Tube MP Studio with an upgraded tube right into the EPX3000 and really like the tone but wanted a little more flexibility.

SWEET! Thanks, this is nearly the same document I put together :)

I'll request the number as soon as it shows up at the house.

Huge kudos to you for taking all the time and effort to share your experiences and knowledge. This thread really helped me decide where to apply some very limited funds for my new rig - every dollar counts!

I may also be taking advantage of the bi-amp feature and will be happy to share and document my experiences as well.

Hey CharlieC, can I please have a number? ^_^

My V-Amp is now is a nice 4U road-case - it's a leeetle heavier to lug around now, but more durable, and easier than carting it around in the original card-board box!

There's still a gap in the rack there waiting for when I upgrade to a decent rack-mount power amp to go with it....

These Peavey IPR's work damn good. Gigged mine many times now and its never missed a beat
