Behringer BBE copy

Not sure does this belong to effects, but move if you like..

Has anyone ever tryed Behringer Sonic Ultramizer (yeah the name made me laugh ) ?

Basically it looks like a BBE Sonic Maximazer copy, in cheaper price offcoarse..

I have heard lots of praise about BBE, but I have never really understood what it is.. today I had a chat with my good friend Google, and found out what it is.. And in five minutes found Behringer alternative..

So do you think this would be worth to try? Is this kind of unit necessary in any way?
Have some one all ready tryed one?
Any other alternatives?

you know you could prolly get a REAL bbe on ebay for cheap... i would rather just get a real one and spend an extra 20$

What does BBE do? Lower frequencies and higher frequencies travel at different speeds. What the BBE is supposed to do is even out these frequencies as well as offer a shape to the sound.

I wonder if the Behringer actually has the same function of the BBE or if they just have a chip emulating the sound...

the last time i brought up behrenger stealing products the mods gave me a 3 day ban, fyi

they usually do a good job making cheep coppies so i dont see any reason to doubt it

My god, how annoying is that control layout? Just to stuff you up they've swapped the order of the knobs on ch.2.

Probably like the Peavey Kosmos.

I read somewhere how these things work is split off the HF, distort it (a little), then mixes it back in.

I suppose you could do the same with a cross over, putting just the highs, like over 2-5khz into a distortion pedal, then partially mix it back.

There are VST plugins that mimic this if you want to just see how it sounds.

yeah, i have a behri mixer and its awesome. i also own a behringer condenser mic thats not half bad.

but all my experiences with their amps have been very bad.

and behri names always crack me up.

My experience with their mixers has been just the opposite. I've had problems with Channels going bad, etc.

Sorry but IMO, they have a long way to go from a quality perspective.

lol the BBE is already cheap in price. I don't see people not springing an extra few dollars for the Behringer.

Not in my experience. Granted, they're not as bad as plastic pedals, but still...
