Behringer XR18 X-Air

Hey, I'm using the "mixing station" on my phone for my in-ear mix. Lately it hasn't been saving my mix from gig to gig. I just looked at the documentation but can't test it until I'm hooked up to the BL's system -- is it as simple as enabling "autosave" on the settings?
AFAIK… Assuming discussion on XR18… mix settings are saved on XR18, not mixing station. It pulls them from the XR when you connect. Is BL using it somewhere else and not saving/recalling scenes?

Yeah, he has an iPad he's using for the main mix. Does he need to save everything at the end of the gig?

Only if he's using it for another gig with different players/setup. It should automatically save current settings and restore them at startup.
Assuming that he's NOT using it elsewhere, you should get the identical IEM mix from your last gig unless he's loading up a specific scene!

This is NOT XR18 specific. The "rule" applies to pretty much every small-footprint digital console I have used from Behringer, QSC, A&H, Mackie, Midas, Yamaha ....

@s0c9 thanks, I'll have to do more digging. I think that earlier it was automatically saving but the last few times it hasn't. I don't think he uses the x-air for anything else.
I only use an XR18 occasionally, but I don’t recall there being a setup option for that..it should be automatic!

When you connect to the mixer via Xair you are given the choice to either download what’s existing in the mixer from the last time it was used or you can upload the current settings in Xair to the mixer. If an old mixing session is recalled in Xair your IEM mic will be what’s there when he last saved it.

My guess is your sound guy is using his mixer for other things in between your gigs and is recalling a scene he saved some time ago at one of your bands gigs. After your next gig you can ask him to save a new scene and use it instead so your in ear mix is updated.

If he’s not using the mixer for anything else in between gigs he just has to select mixer—->Xair when connecting and the last settings will be uploaded to Xair unchanged from the last gig.

Related question to XR18 users. Maybe @s0c9 knows, or any one else.

I’m using the MXBus app on my iPhone. Initially I tried the EQ settings for the aux send to my IEMs, except it’s creating a weird sonic noise that’s melting every instrument together. I’ve tried resetting everything even on the main mixer, but the scene saved keeps going back to the VEQ on my channel!

Is there a hard reset just for my bus??? I’ve tried re downloading the app but it’s saved via the main mixer. I’ve also tried adjusting those settings for just my channel, but it reverts when I reconnect!!!! I’m stumped outside of making EVERYONE reset everything.

thoughts?

To clarify - Is this on the XR18 or another mixer?

I have never used that app - MXbus.
Have you
a) tried a different AUX channel or
b) tried doing your AUX mix using the main Behringer XAir app?
Doing so would eliminate the app and/or the AUX mix as a source of the issue.

Testing both would narrow down root cause. if neither fixes it, we can do a deeper dive.
