Sweetwater is taking Internet orders for the Behringer XR18 X-Air now. Just placed my order. $699 free shipping. No word yet on a ship date, but I can't wait to see how this board fares, and to set up remote control on my laptop, ipad2, and android phone. I may even go for one of their hardware remote surfaces if the unit is a keeper.

Anyone else?

Sweetwater has been taking money for preorders since October and pushing the release date back. Last I heard was March. I got tired of waiting and bought an x32 producer, twice as much but an excellent track record and feature set.

I'm hoping the xr18 and uphoria umc1820 live up to the specs when they finally get here, they look like great products that fit my needs for a great price point.

Sweetwater's website had the xr18 listed a while ago, bit with clear banner that said it wasn't yet available, and to get on an email list that would alert you when it became available. This banner is gone now. Sweetwater always gives you an alert if a product purchased will be delayed in shipping by any significant amount of time. I'll know more soon when I get an estimated ship date.

pricing on the soundcraft mixers? availability? input/output configurations?

I was ready to buy one when I saw the Soundcraft Ui16. http://www.soundcraft.com/products/ui16# I wanted on stage monitor adjustment without needing to buy the personal monitor stuff. Waiting for preorder announcement for it. I'm really looking forward to all this digital stuff!
I'm not sure where this info is coming from .. unless I'm mistaken.... as the XR18 has that capability plus 6 AUX outs in addition to the main L/R bus.. the U16 has 4 AUX + main and both are close in price - $699 XR vs $549 (?) ui16

I'm on that list but haven't received an alert yet. I did speak with a Sweetwater rep on the phone two weeks ago and he said March, which is what the website says now. I just don't trust that date since in October it said December and in December it said January. They'll take your money and reserve one for you at any time though. I'm just not patient enough.

Sweetwater does not bill your card until you get a hard ship date, from what I've seen in their policy statements, IIRC. Time will tell. Either way, I'm not too concerned. Winter NAMM would seem to be the time & place for retailers to place their orders, so if it's March, I can wait. Any longer, I'll wait and cancel the order. Again, they don't actually have my money until they bill at the time of shipping.

My mistake, here is their policy:
"Sweetwater does not charge you in advance for orders that are not in stock and ready to ship. In the event that your order must be split (i.e., one item is in stock and one is backordered) we only charge for the part that is shipped. Once the balance of your order is ready to ship we will apply charges for that."

I believe the XR18 must use the personal monitor device to control your own mix. See about half way down this page ([Invalid or Expired Link Removed]) Does anyone have a phone number to talk to Behringer? I have talked to Sweetwater and Soundcraft.

What @morgansterne said above... AFAIK !

Only over the CAT 5 Ultranet. (Note the Aux mixes available on the right edge of the app's mixer window.)[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

They said it will not let you adjust your monitor mix with another wireless device.
Cool.. thx... tho' I see that as a big dissatisfier.. but.. the "blurb" does state the following (excerpts), which imply that the iPAd can do same.. hence multiple remote monitor mix controls :)

X AIR EDIT (PC/Mac/Linux)
If your application requires a computer....
You can even control multiple mixers remotely from a single computer, or create several strategically placed computer stations to control the same mixer.

X AIR for Android
Designed .... specifically for all Android mobile devices (2.2 or higher), which includes tablets and smartphones, the app can be used in one of two modes: full access mixing mode; or bound to a specific aux bus for creating personal monitor mixes remotely on BEHRINGER X AIR mixers. Using this free and easy to learn app, each performer can use their Android device to dial-in the perfect personal IEM or wedge monitor mix, without having to consult the audio engineer for assistance.

I'm guessing that you WILL be able to control your own IEM mix.. [shrug]

Hmmm where are you getting this info? Do you have a link? I might be more interested in the Behringer if I could do remote monitor mixes. The Xr18 has more ins and outs than the Soundcraft. This waiting is killing me!
