Why? Are you aware that tire pressure sensors were federally mandated (in 2007 I believe) because it was found that low tire pressure resulted in poor fuel economy?
Why wouldn't they require all these other gimmicks to be installed? Imagine the potential benefits.

Well, I do believe that technology is being explored to make the internal combustion engine obsolete. Whether we like it or not.
I agree, but my point was that mandating this would save a heck of alot more fuel then a light on the dash that most people dont even understand.
The difference between a sensor and something drastic is people would notice the bigger things, such as a bunch of aero mods.
Aerodynamic cars save on fuel useage. That is a fact.

What you're missing is that aerodynamics don't start playing a factor until you're travelling at a high rate of speed (70 mph or so if memory serves me correctly) It's been a long time and I'm too lazy to google. After this, wind drag goes up exponentially.
This is used in racecars to go faster, they aren't really interested in fuel economy.
Low tire pressure should have a bigger effect on fuel consumption at all speeds, and do I dare say that I've yet to see a Saturn that can do 70?![]()

areo is helping big rigs get 10 MPG plus. Latest engines are also helping as they run cleaner so less filters to clog exhaust and kill efficiency.

Aerodynamic drag increases with the square of velocity.
As far as technology were not using... Grills are getting smaller, or active grill blockers, wheels are being skirted, engines are stopping when vehicles stop, might not be everywhere yet but it will be.
Tell me these things don't work when you can get 65mpg out of a car in mixed driving rated for 38 HIGHWAY.
Tell the guys at Eco modder, what there doing is pointless when you can get 77mpg out of a while rated for 42 HIGHWAY.
Please just continue to tell me aerodynamics are a gimmic! And I'll let the flat earth society know of your theory!!

I got a speeding ticket driving my Saturn Ion home from a gig at 1am.
Had I been blue-lighted a minute earlier Id have been flagged for doing 105mph. My ticket was for 92mph.

. Had that poor hamster running hard to get that fast. My Saturn sounded like an old washing machine that's out of balance if I had it much over 70.
