Double Bass Bent end pin

Yes, George Vance used to advocate making your own.
Take a straight end pin put it in a vice, heat it with a torch where you want it to bend, then using very heavy leather gloves and or vice-grips, bend away.
I tried it-- it takes a while to get hot enough to bend, and goes faster if you use brazing gas rather than regular propane.

You might experiment with a piece if stock the same size as your end pin.
I think I found a bolt long enough and the same diameter , then hack-sawed the head off, so I could use the threads to put a stopper on the end.
