Double Bass Berg 112HT for upright?

Ok, is it just me, or are you guys into major overkill? If I
walked into a little trio or quartet jazz gig with a big stack
of speakers, I'd frighten the band, customers, and whoever
booked us in the first place.

Do you consider two Berg 1x12's to be a "big stack of speakers?" If so, you don't even want to see what I bring to large, outdoor, electric gigs!

An HT112 should be more than enough for most jazz gigs. I use a Focus SA and either a Solstice, Fishman Pro EQ platinum or Sans Amp depending on the gig. I've also just used the HT112 all by itself for some rock gigs. There is usually PA support for those situations. I only add my EX112 when I need to get really loud and the stage is big enough to get some distance between me and the amp. It also depends on the pickup you use. You could get away with just the EX112 with a realist or another dark pickup. I don't think the realist puts out enough high end to use the tweeter in the HT112.
