To the Bergantino Bass cab owners, I am now wanting to purchase one. Problem is which one. I’m looking at 3 differing models

NXT 2X12
HG 4x10
NX 4X10

what do you guys think from having played them? The basses will be Fender PJ basses the heads will be a Bergantino Forte D and a Darkglass Microtubes 500V2. Pedals with be Sans Amp bass driver and a Darkglass B7K. Style of music live will be Punk NYHC. Thanks for your guys help

I own the NXT212 and play in a punk rock band. For me it is a fantastic cab however if the NXV410 had been available when I bought it I would have reconsidered it. I have heard really good things about the Berg 10" speakers that were used for the NXV series.

However the NXT212 is also the goods so I won't be changing it over any time soon.

It sounds like you play with a bit of dirt as I do also. I play my NXT212 with the tweeter totally off and it gives me more than enough top end for a good sounding driven bass tone.

Ah ok do you feel it provides good punch to cut through and be felt in terms of your 2x12 ? I’m still undecided but what you said does help. Do you have anything recorded with the cab that would be ok for me to listen to ?

Unfortunately the only recordings I have done since getting the cab have been using amp sims and then heavily mixed so it won’t do much good as the cab wasn’t even involved.

I can say that the cab easily holds its own space between two Marshall heads on 4x12s and a punk drummer. It has a good amount of low mids but doesn’t descend into boom territory.

I have a CN212 and NXV210. The 210 has been my go to cab lately, but my gigs have all been outdoors on upright or small venues with a bass with flats so maybe not comparable to someone looking for high volume/dirty tone. I have really liked the NXV210 though. Very nicely voiced.

I prefer a natural roll off on the top end over a tweeter, and usually have the tweeter on the CN212 dialed down a fair bit when I use that cab. The 210 is just so compact and light weight for the output that it’s been more than enough for my needs so I haven’t really been using the 212.

With the 210 what surprised me the first time I plugged in was how much low end roundness it had. I had been using a barefaced retro two10 for a similar small gig setup, but wanted an 8 ohm cab option. I feel like the barefaced was a little more controlled on the low end at the same amp settings, switching to the berg I dialed the lows back a little from where they had been to get similar sounds.

I need to play around with some pedals/amps to see how the nxv210 handles drive, but I think that cab might be a little small for my louder bands so I haven’t really made it a priority. I have used the CN212 with those groups and enjoyed it.

I started my Berg rigs in a Soul band with an AE112 and an AE210, so I'd probably checkout the NXT112 and NXT210.

Then I played 2 AE210's. Great punchy sound, so 2 NXT210's might be better for Punk.

It's tough to beat the Bergie 12's. I've had the HT212 and CN212, and they were both great cabinets. Currently, I'm using a Ref112 and a Ref210. I almost always take the 112 when I only need a single cabinet, which is much of the time these days.

A few years ago I A/B'd about a dozen cabs at The Bass Shop in Seattle. The Bergantino HDN212 was the superior choice, followed by another Bergantino 212 (can't remember the model). The NXT 212, which I believe to be the successor to the HDN212, wins this poll for me based on that.
