See my avatar...green light Electracoustic with Berg HT112, add a second HT112 when I need to blast. I use an fDeck HPF between the bass and amp, dial mids down to get rid of piezo quack. Kicks butt for BG, too. Been rocking it for over 15 years, love it.

If your EA dealer friend has an EA NL112 check that out also. That's what I'm using now and it is by far the best EA cab and best 12 cab I've had. It is finicky about what amps it likes however and have no experience with it and a WW. Typically I've found that amps that are not ICEmodule powered works better with them, so the WW may be a good match. If the WW does match up well you won't find a better sounding cab.

Every rig is different. Had a chance to A/B the Whizzy 112 (not even close) and the NL 112 (closer, but not really) against my Bergantino Ref 112’s. To my ears, honestly, even the older Berg’s couldn’t touch these References...they’re much punchier, fuller, and tighter sounding than anything I’ve compared them to. They don’t push as hard as my Aguilar DB 115 and 212’s (especially when pushed by the Ag DB 751), but pound for pound the finest I’ve ever played through. I’m really looking forward to Mike Arnopol’s new 4-5 and 4-6’s though (especially for URB). Your results may of course vary as usual.

And we're talking about with a WW green light. The Bergs are great cabs, but I had to choose a Berg to go with the green light it would be the old HT112 like Brian Rost is using. And if you haven't heard the NL112's with an iAmp 800 you haven't heard them. The Wizzy's also match better with some amps better than others. I can make a list a mile long of what amps don't work with the Wizzy 12. I've had the WW 1200 watt/Berg stack setup as well as the DB751/Berg stack set up, so I know where you're coming from, as well as the Ref12/210 with B|Amp side by side with the NL112s and iAmp 800. The Bergs are good cabs and played them for a long time on jazz combos, big band, and Top 40/rock gigs, but honestly the sound of them grew old to me and I find the EA's matched up with the right amp(s) sounds better to me. If the OP finds he likes the Berg better there's nothing wrong with that, he'll have a great setup regardless.

Like I said, every rig is different, I’m obviously stoked on my Bergs right now. One of my favorite URB cabs also is the Crazy 88...in fact that’s what I’m taking on a bluegrass cruise in a couple weeks. I really did like the EA NL112 also, sounded really tight with just the right amount of air. Unfortunately, I never got to try it with an EA amps but I’ve seen a lot of players say the same thing about them that you did. Were you able to sell your Whizzy 10 and EA micro by the way? If not, I’ve got a friend I told about them and he may be interested.

I’d love to have a WW but will have to wait...got my eye on a Dovecage!

Frankly, I'd go with the Dovecage/M700 combo, they're easier for to service and Jule's really good at turning them around. Walter's amplifiers can only be serviced by Walter and sometimes you'll have to wait several weeks to get it repaired. For what you'll pay for a Woods by it's self I think you could
almost have the money for the Dovecage/M700.
