hi all I'm a bit of newcomer to this forum so here's a big HELLO! to everyone.
I've just purchased a second hand pre superlight model bespoke bass (Link Removed -which doesn't have all of those 22 ml holes in it and in my opinion looks a lot better! I'll post some pictures of it when I get time) & it needs a bit of adjusting & setting up so I'm looking for advice please.
Firstly the bridge feet are flat on the frame of the bass. Is this normal? & does it mean I can move the bridge without causing damage to the frame?(the feet on my old acoustic bass were curved & had to sit between the notches on the f holes)
Secondly the action needs lowering on the high string. Should I loosen the strings & use the rollers or maybe move the bridge lower down the bass?
Thirdly the wire at the end of the bass has moved to the left (this is kind of hard to explain so I'll get some photos up) I was thinking of loosening the strings & moving it back into a central position?
I think that's all the help I need. I don't know if anyone else has used one of these bespoke basses but the sound quality & tone of the shadow pickup is ace. My old budget acoustic bass was really put to shame by this and felt like a toy in comparison.
