Best 2 channel or "stereo" para or semi parametric eq

I would not be using this for recording, but I'm a wouldbe audiophile who does not want to ruin the "transparency" of my music listening, but would like to add some HIGH QUALITY eq controls between my preamp and power amp.

I would like to be able to control lows and highs at least. maybe 20hz-100 and maybe 2khz and up?

I don't want to buy a 10,15 or 31 band graphic eq if I don't have to, or unless they are "transparent"

1 rack space would be nice.

willing to spend up to $2000

I was looking into "great river" eq2nv, and "focusrite" red2 for the moment.

What other companies should I consider new and used?
