"Best" 200 watt combo bass amp?

For whoever it was that mentioned the HD500 .... the spousal unit just bought an HD50 and it is the loudest 50 watt combo I've ever heard, and has that clear Hartke thing that you can color with a pedal. And very deep with the little 10" speaker. So I'd imagine the bigger HDs would certainly work. Amp and cab design has come a long way the last few years. Some of these little combos will surprise you.

I've played through a few of these.
Tone wise I liked the Ampeg best and the Hartke was good but hated how sensitive the slope control was.
GK was very good and sounded like a GK (which is not my thing).
I do not like the Rumble 1x12 100 watt. Not sure if the big ones are less boxy.
In the end, I am not sure they would keep up with a rock band and offer much headroom.

Nice amp, but unfortunately you need an extension cab to get the quoted 200 watts. It only does 100w on its own.

If you can find a used one, the Acoustic B200 combo is a great amp. It outputs 200W into a 4 ohm 15 inch speaker. The 6 band EQ is very useful. I seldom use the notch filter. The amp does well when I play a low B. The speaker will begin to fart at higher volumes, but I have not used such levels during rehearsals or small club gigs. The external speaker output is wired such that the speakers will be in series, not parallel, which will limit the volume change from adding an external speaker cabinet.
