Best 2x12 for the money

Ok currently im running a 1x15 ashdown combo amp.
But my mate has a 2x12 aguilar cab with a Hartke head.
Ive had a play around with his amp, the tone of the 12's is amazing, i was thinking about going to a 2x10 or possibly a 4x10, but now i want a 2x12.

Im a bit of an ashdown man, i like the tone and growl you get from them. So i was gonna go with a Ashdown MAG 300 head and a 2x12, but ashdown dont make a 2x12 cabinet.

So apart from the aguila, what other good 2x12's are there?
Preferably for under £400 ($610).

I'm also looking for a 212 cab, at the moment I'm most interested in the Fearful 12126 but I'm afraid about part availability/cost here in NZ, or the GK Neo 212II to go with my 700rbi head. I haven't played through either though. *doesn't help lol*

I had an Avatar 2x12 for some time that I really liked, and they can be had new for pretty cheap.

+1. Got a 2x12 from them several months ago - got to pick out ohms, color, and grill. And had it delivered within a week. I couldn't be happier.

While I have minimal 212 experience I LOVE my GenzBenz Neox212...less than 50lbs and a beast...The horn can be lacking otherwise very solid.

Oh they can be had for less than 600 usd used

I almost bought (2) 212 Genz-Benz cabs but they are more money than what you mention. I got instead another
Ampeg 810-E. Still if I was in the market to down-size , I would look at Genz Benz products....

Yeah, for *my* money, the Genz Benz Uber 212 is hands down,...my favorite. (there is no best). Probably more than you want to spend, unless you find a used one. But, if you're looking for THAT sound....

Well if you played your friends Aguilar 212 and it was a DB series, you played a very mid driven cab. If it was a GS 212, it was mid scooped in comparison to the DB.

That said, if you can't afford the Aguilar, I vote for GK 212. I had one for a few years and it rocked.

I am having a problem with my Avatar 2x12 right now. Either the speaker is blown or the bracing in the cabinet is no good because the back is shaking like crazy.

Also, If it is low end you want, you should look at the 4x10. I have both and the 2x12 was definitely voiced higher than the 410.

OP's in the UK, so Avatar's might be a little pricey to get there.

How about a pair of the Warwick WCA 112 ND, say, used?

A G-K 212 NEO is about £499, and a TC RS212 about £470, both new with free shipping in the UK. If you shop used you could get either of those within your budget.
