Best 5 string Jazz under $2000

I'm in the market for a good 5 string jazz & would like to keep the cost in & around 2K.

Lakland JO5 passive or DJ 5 active. I use a JO5 with aero5 pickups. Passive. Killer. For 34" scale I had a Valenti, which was also killer. And , of course, Fender USA in 34".

Does it have to be new? If not you may find a decent Sadowsky Metro for under 2 G's, although Laklands are great too.

The Laklands are great basses for a great price. I have that particular Valenti, and yes it is a killer. New or used Valenti is a great choice. I'd also add that a used Sadowsky Metro would be under 2K and would be a great choice.
