Opinions vary widely, I suppose - I actually think that the Ampeg 610 is the worst sounding big cab I've ever played. I REALLY hated it.

As for the best - in my opinion the Berg NV610 is forty shades of awesomeness (if you like a sealed cab, that is). All the vibe of the Ampeg fridge, yet clearer\sweeter\more open and fits into your average sized vehicle...

I currently run a SWR Goliath Sr. 610 and love it. Yes it's big, and yes it's heavy, but it's light enough to get into a SUV easily enough and anytime I get a chance to run it I dig it.

My pre/poweramp is a SWR Grand Prix with a Stewart World Tour 1.6. You won't be disappointed if you go the SWR/Stewie route.

A bonus about the Grand Prix is that it has a pull for highpass filter switch on one of the pots. This rolls off the extreme lows (below 30Hz) at a 12db per octave slope. I'm a fan of this little feature as a way to protect the cab. The DI output is unaffected so front of house still gets a fullband signal.

I love the 6x10 HLF. Played one for years with a Ampeg V4BH.

For new cabs.
Schroeder 6x10 is nice.
The discontinued Marlbass 6x10 was good too.
But to my ears nothing comes close the the Berg. NV610.

Is this Ampeg You are talking about Ported?and if not is it 3 separate chambers like I think the 8-10 fridge is?

The Ampeg 610 has chambers for each pair of speakers with holes in each divider so all six speakers are ported through 3 ports along the bottom . Most people around here don't like them very much but I think mine sounds amazing. It can get a little boomy if you are not careful with the eq , but crank enough mids and it will punch you in the chest.

If it has substantially large holes between each Chamber.. then I would say that it is all one chamber.. the dividers may be for support of enclosure

However I Was asking about the design of the LDS 6-10
