Talked to the LDS people. American made, with Eminence Neos, 70 pounds, any way I want it, for WAY less than anyone else. Sounds like the philosophy that built my Skjold. Pwr will be Stewart Audio, and not sure on preamp. Will let you all know. Thank you all for the benefit of your experience. Will try all the ones you guys mentioned.

Has anyone played through, or even heard, the Thunderfunk 6x10? I really like the fact that the top two 10s are tilted back, and as far as brands go, Thunderfunk has an excellent reputation.

The Thunderfunk looks great. Light as the Schroeder which also looks great. The Bergs have a loyal following and aren't that heavy (100lbs.). The LDS is around $700, custom, and 70lbs. I was told Eminence Delta neos. $900 less than the tfunk, prob $500 less than the Schroeder.
Picking up an SWR Grand Prix for around three, a Stewart 1.2 new for $650, and the LDS for around 7...should kill. But not the back.

I really like it. Very clean,articulate and solid.
And it can handle my low C# string.
I'm the proud owner of 2 Schroeder cabs. I bought them both to compete with an outrageously loud, Mesa triple rectifier powered guitard, about 2 yrs ago. I was booted from the band soon after. I didn't have the occaison to use both cabs in combo until this past weekend. I set my SVT4pro to stereo and powered my 1212 & 310212 with it's own side of the ampeg. The tone, for me, was somewhere between epic & crushing 
I've used both cabs on their own before, and was always pleased with their sound in a band mix, but this was an eye/ear opening experience.
Keep in mind, Schroeder cabinets (strangely) to me, don't sound like I'd like solo'd. But when you put them in a band mix, to quote Keith Kackson, "whoa Nellie" ! I've heard folks comment that they're lacking a bit in the lows, and solo'd I might agree. But they move heaven & earth when in a band context. It's like the lows appear out of thin air

It sounds good, and the playing is great, as expected, but I had a problem with one thing Dave Funk said
"What bass players should look for in a bass amp is an amp that when they first plug into it, the first thing they hear is the sound of their bass"
I have to disagree. Bass tone is a matter of personal preference. I know that my SVT-VR into my NV610 isn't a clean, accurate representation of my bass, and I don't want it to be. It colors the sound exactly the way I like it.

I couldn't agree more, which is one of the reasons why I'm chagrined to hear most of the "clips" demonstrating gear feature slappers using round wounds; makes it virtually impossible for me to infer what the gear might sound like playing fingerstyle on flatwounds. As good as players like Jauqo, Marcus, and Wooten are, I have no interest in achieving a sound anything like theirs.

The sound of my bass through a DI or sterile clean amp can be rattly, clanky, and annoying. I need the beef of a good amp to get what I like to hear.
There is a cab on LDS's site that has a tilted upper section like the Thunderfunk.
I'm also surprised no one mentioned Tecamp. Everything I've read here on TB makes it sound like their stuff is the bee's knees!
