Good call! Incredibly engaging, emotional climax to a mind-bending album from start to finish.

+1 on "Day In The Life" and "Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End" from Sgt Pepper's & Abbey Road respectively (I always considered "Her Majesty" more of a bonus track than the actual last cut on the album, fwiw.)

One that comes to mind is "Safe (Canon Song)" from Chris Squire's Fish Out Of Water album. After this long, involved, dense orchestral composition there's this brief, quiet little ambient coda performed on a heavily-reverberated bass, that just seems the perfect delicate capper for all the bombast that's come before.

LOL... those three are the first ones I thought of!

Others are Van Halen's In a Simple Rhyme (Women & Children First) and Beautiful Girls (Van Halen II).

Shout It Out Loud...Although technically not the last song on the album, but the last 'live' song on Kiss Alive II. (Side 4 was new studio stuff)

GREAT call on "Safe". Love that album and the thoughtfulness with which he ended it.

I've always been partial to "This is the Life" on Living Colour's 'Time's Up'. Such a powerful, emotional, honest song.

Also, "Hotel Womb" (The Church, 'Starfish'); "Heart of the Sunrise" (Yes, 'Fragile'); "Sometimes" (Midnight Oil, 'Diesel & Dust').

I'm sure I'm forgetting something good, but don't have access to my album collection at this moment.

One of my (many) favourites is In the Lap of the Gods... Revisited by Queen. I thought it was a great way to finish Sheer Heart Attack, with a strong but simple track in contrast with some of the more bombastic songs on the album.
