All terrific bands too:
Happy End (70's)
The Bar-B-Q Killers (80's)
Harvey Milk (Super Heavy from the early 90's)
Of Montreal (90's-present)
Chrissakes (2000's)
That's awesome, and reminds me of something else. In the movie "Vicious Lips" (which is about a fictional, or maybe sci-fictional, band of the same name), one woman calls another a "slut slug". "Mondo sucking maggot licking slut slug", I think. Or "mondo licking maggot sucking slut slug", maybe. One of those. Anyway. Vicious Lips is a great band name, but Slut Slug might be even better.
Handsome Dan and the Whiskey Midgets - There was, in fact, not a single person named Dan in the group nor any midgets. Kids are silly like that.
Stairway to Stardom band Barbara and the Jungle Studs - 3 members from said band above ( Bass, Drums and Keys) entered the STS competition and put crazy eclectic music influences so we would be paired. Barbara ( her real name ) was a lady in her mid 30s who was a fantastic jazz vocalist. Imagine her surprise when 3 high school kids and a 13 year old guitar player ( the last member of the band and had only been playing a year ) showed up for first practice
We won by the way with an original called Joe (wrote for her husband).
