Best bass case for under $100?

I am receiving a Fender Jazz bass (Modern Player Satin) sometime in the next few days. :hyper: It does not come with a case, so I am looking for a solid case for $100 or less. I already have a Mono double gig bag for transporting basses, but would like a case for this bass to call home. Hardshell probably makes sense.

I have searched around and found SKB and Roadrunner. Any other brands or suggestions?

Personally I use Hiscox cases, they're a british brand so I'm not sure you'd have them over there, I've never heard anything bad about the SKB cases though. Just PLEASE spend the money you have to to get a decent one! I once got a hard case on the cheaper end and it's just not worth it, it could hardly be called a "hard" case! It was thin, floppy, the top and bottom didn't fit together properly and you could actually press the whole top of it inwards with very little resistance. Meanwhile the Hiscox cases can support a LOT of weight and are rock solid and totally worth the money!

EDIT: Here's the case I use [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I would show you the cheaper one I tried but I'm guessing the place I got it from got too many returns as they've now stopped stocking them!
Another reason to avoid cheaper cases is that sometimes (well, with mine at least) it won't actually fit your bass properly, mine was too small and made the neck sit too far to the side to the tuning pegs would scrape against the metal running along the edge

I'm actually finding it online for a bit less than $149. I don't mind going over $100 if the quality is there. Thanks!

In that case another plus 1 for the SKB 44. I've got two and they are as solid as any case (except an old 10 ton anvil ATA approved flight case) I've ever owned and are better than most I've had. The old peavey blow molded teardrop cases were close to bulletproof but they are like hen's teeth and usually model specific anyway.

A close second would be a current model Fender HSC. They are made by SKB but are not quite as stout and have flip loop latches instead of the TSA units, but for throwing in the trunk, backseat or gear trailer they would be plenty good.
