Best bass head and cab for drop A deathcore

Let the big multi-way system out front do the heavy lifting, and don't go thinking you might want that kind of sound reproduction for yourself, too. You can make do with the same thing everybody else uses.

Also, other thing to consider is not everyone (including me) likes loud from little boxes. Lifting heavy objects proves you can lift heavy objects. There's a reason nobody touring for anything remotely heavy uses 10x115 setups like people are suggesting. They use 10 & 115 setups like I'm suggesting.

When FreeFULLOL is dead and gone the standard 810 and 215 designs will still be around and breaking backs and taking names, so don't get too caught up in concepts that have been around since the dawn of amplification. Get what is comfortable for everybody that doesn't have to move it, and is easy to find at your local GC.

Are there any freq response graphs made of a 151566 with say, pink noise being ran through the cabs, then EQ being applied? Maybe that isn't a good test methodology, I'm just wondering if there is a way to get some hard data.

I don't know that anyone has pinked a 1515/66, mostly because the guys who build them are DIY guys. The place to go and ask for FR info is the fEARful message board and website. I know there's a wattage/sensitivity graph up on the main page...

...in terms of comparison to an 810, the double 15 fEARfuls will be capable of louder volumes and lower frequency response than a traditional 810. It will have a different tonal profile though, since the Ampeg sound has plenty of low mid+mid emphasis and tends to break up pretty readily (that snarly ampeg tone). The fEARful will stay cleaner louder and you'll have to EQ in the low mid and mid forward bump. What you'll get though is low end extension and great off axis response in the mids that's missing from the 'traditional' cab setup.

I'd go Ampeg 8x10 and one of their higher powered solid state amps and be done with it. My recent run-ins with sound guys about multiple cabs, bi-amping, etc. have been reason enough to use something they won't get in a tizzy about. Put that fridge up there and EQ it the way you like and everybody is happy. My $0.02....

I would have to think that it would be a pretty rocking rig. Just going by what I've been hearing. I'll have more when I test out my 7Pro in a few weeks. A couple places in Vegas have been using that as their standard 8x10 rental lately from what I've read.
