Best bass strings companies

For me, Circle Ks have beaten everything else I've tried, regardless of the number of strings. To rank some of the brands I've actually liked, ignoring their price, I'd say Circle K > Curt Mangan > Ritter > DR. Switch DR and Ritter around if price is considered.

Since you mentioned Dunlop Super Brights, I'm definitely in that camp. They are truly special strings and there is nothing else like them. They are not for everybody though. If you like a stiff feeling, muted sounding string you won't like them.

Other than that, anything by DR or Fodera is a safe bet. Browse around on www.bassstringsonline.com and you can see what all is out there.

You just need to try out a bunch. We don't have your hands or your bass. Right now I am in love with LaBella Deep Talkin' Flats and Standard Stainless Steel (HRS). Don't use much else. Sound great dead to the world or fresh out of the pack.

I'll tell you who's doesn't make good strings: Allparts. I don't know where they're getting their strings but they're worse than the worst stock strings on the worst basses.
That have to be the worst review I ever heard! I am almost intrigued to hear and test them now...
In longevity, overall quality and most musical tone I think the company would be Thomastik-Infeld, then LaBella.
The most 'musical' sounding string for versitality was the thin gauged Fodera nickels I had for years.
But yeah everyone wants different things and likes different kinds of tone. And feel!
It's fun with lots of subjectiveness in the question however, as that is what's going to happen in the comments for the most part anyway.
