I ordered an ESP LTD Deluxe B-1004 bass. It is a 34" scale and 42mm nut width. I like DR strings a lot, but not sure how they fare in through bodiesIt depends on the instrument so you will need to measure or at least list the make and model if you know it.
Some require at least a 37" winding and some need 38" or longer!
A Fender Jazz deluxe needs at least a 37" winding.
That's awesome. Thanks manD'Addario you would most likely need Extra Long unless you measure the instrument.
Here is a listing of string lengths by manufacturer. My guess is you would need at least 37.25"... But you might be able to use 37" but you would need to measure to be sure.

Cool, I don't think I've ever tried D'Addario's before. Been wanting to try those outI use regular D'Addario XLs on my string through Fender Precision V and Roscoe Beck Signature V all the time.
Forsure, I'm gonna play it safe and just get the 38 inch. Thanks manNot that it may be relevant to ESP, but I can verify that G&L string through are 37.25 -- if you get 37 inch, 0.25 inch of the silk will be on the nut
so it's best to order 38 inch.

Cool, I'm sold brother. I'm trying those nextMan, over the years I have tried them all. For whatever reason I always come right back.
I used to play those exclusively, good stringsDean Markley Blue Steels fit just fine on my '08 MIA Jazz, and they sound and feel great.
That's good news. I'm a fan of DR's. If their good on thru body I'm set. I want to try D'Addario's though, if I don't click with them I'll put on some DR's forsureI just installed my first set of DR Longnecks and they are killer. Hex core and tapered.
Great for thru body IMO.
