Best Bass Synth Pedal

There r some of us out there who, myself included, love synth bass but like the challenge of putting flesh 2 strings n trying 2 cop the lines with a real bass + fx pedals: that's me. I'll never play an actual keyboard on stage, not bcoz I hate key bass but bcoz I luv bass guitar n know I'm a bee's dick away from copping it on a bass, albeit not the exact same sound but with the touch, feel, articulation n tone close enough so that most listeners can't tell the diff, live or studio. So I'll stick 2 my Korg G5, Zoom B1on n MS60B to get the sounds n feel as close as I can n revel in my challenges, near misses n successes. If everyone stuck within the confines of the status quo, never daring 2 take the bull by the horns, where would we be, in any pursuit. YMMV but my bass 2c.

Don't get me wrong, synth pedals are a boat load of fun. I can spend hours squeezing out synth tones from a bass guitar. The G5 is great, one of favorites actually. I hate the enclosure, but that's another topic. Octave divider, fuzz, filter is a fun combo too.

I've just come to the conclusion that an actual synth is better for me. I've become a bass player rather than just a bass guitar player. A bass technician so to speak...ha, I just made that up. I'd also argue that a bass guitar player playing a synth as needed is vastly less popular than inserting a pedal to emulate a synth.

No worries either way. It all comes down to what you're trying to do.

If the non musicians in the audience don't notice the difference between the bass and the synth then you're on the right path.

If the musicians in the audience can't tell what instrument is making what sound, then you're doing it right.
