I Want to continue to get my cats toys they’ll enjoy.

What’s your best cat toys?

My cats love:
1. Springs
2. Yarn (don’t leave it out so they don’t swallow it)
3. Wand toys with feathers at the end

I used to keep a small bucket full of these things under an end table for my cat to play with. He would never play with them when we were home. But when I came home from work, I would find them scattered all over the house, up and down the stairs, under furniture, on shelves, in the bed, etc.

I think he enjoyed watching me pick them all up and put them away...

They were toy mice, and no, the fridge was a Kenmore.

Mrs. GB finds these all over the house.

She blames me. I blame the cat.

2. Yarn (don’t leave it out so they don’t swallow it)

As someone who works in emergency veterinary medicine I cannot recommend strongly enough to NOT use yarn as a toy even under supervision. Yarn is to weak and easily breaks. If you really want to do the string toy thing get something much stronger like braided nylon which holds up to teeth better than yard does and never leave it out where you cat can get to it when you are not there.

A few years back I had a cat present to my ER for crying, salivating, and pawing at his mouth. It turns out he had bitten clean through the milk ring and a chunk lodged between his back teeth on the roof of his mouth. It was one of those one in a million type things and easily removed.
