I came off stage about a month ago and heard, "you got a lot of soul in you son" That was huge to me because of the mouth it came out of.
About a week ago I came off stage and heard, "You're the most under rated player on that stage" I liked that for about two steps and then thought, What, I'm getting trashed for being sub-par?
My game really went south in 3 weeks

At a local festival we opened for the Ohio Players.
Played a great set. We were "on".
As we're tearing down, this cat comes on stage nearly shouting "where's that damn bass player? where's that DAMN BASS PLAYER?"
I stood up and said that was me, and he says
"I run sound for the Ohio Players, man, you sounded GREAT, you badass".
Made my night. Well, my night was already made, but that sure added to it.
