Best Compliment?

I just got the nicest unintended compliment tonight at band practice:

Upon finishing our last jam for the evening, I continued to noodle on annoyingly enough with some pedals while everyone was packing their crap up. After finally ending, I was told, "Thank God! It sounds like spaceships crashing!"

He was trying to mock me, but honestly, I think that's the coolest comparison I've ever received.

Anyone else get any far out compliments/comparisons beyond "great tone" or whathaveyou?

Although I will add, I thought the guys I was playing with at that time were a bunch of p****** for saying that since I wasn`t playing anything harder than your typical Maiden or Sabbath. I should of known something was wrong when they suggested a Corey Smith song first rehearsal

I got told after a show one time bay some dude that my "fingers walked a symphony through my brain" to quote him exactly.

It was after my first real gig with my band, and for some reason, I have a feeling I will remember that quote until the day I die, partly because of the circumstances, but also because of the sheer absurdity of it.

First rehearsal with a new band, thought it needed a bit of grunt so I switched on the pedals I'd brought along - Meatwad with an LS-2 in the loop, with an OC-2 in one side and a Pulse Synth in the other.

Singer walked over and yelled in my ear "PLAY MORE LIKE THAT!".

After the very first song I used it on, after I first hooked up my landmine (about a month ago), my drummer asked if I could turn it down because it was "melting my ****ing face". I thought that was quite the compliment.

Yesterday I was told to stop playing (using a Moog LPF and OC-2) by the drummer at an football game gig because my playing was 'intrusive' and, after messing with the frequency knob with the resonance knob at 9, that "You're gonna send the crowd on an acid trip"

I also got, "That feels good on my feet" and "That sounds like machinery"

BTW all of these adjectives are what I try to go for, so i'm one happy camper haha

As to the original question, my lead singer said that I make all our songs "sound so pretty." I play in a hardcore band.

I had a guy come up at the end of a gig who said he was from EMI, loved my playing and wanted me to audition for a project they were putting together, with some big names and two bassists(!). He never did call me, but at least I made the rest of the band jealous!

I think it was fuzz, synth, a LOT of reverb, reverse delay and pitch shifter. I knew aliens were just prog rockers in disguise.

There a guy that the blues band I play with has us play parties for [twice a year] and the last time I brought my big board..... He looks at it and goes "you have a wah wah" "I want you to do some weird wah wah stuff" I say sure I'll take you to space So later on when we are all sort of coming back the the stage [and affter being bugged about the wah wah thing] I go up there are stared messing around, and the rest of the band filter in and starts to jam along, it went over very well The guy said " you did take us all off into space!"

Now I have been told I have to do this every time we play for him

One friend of mine said that he likes that my band is like "kick in the face".
And few times during drum and bass jams drummer was angry on me because my basslines were "pushing him into depression". I love analog delay and filters
