Best Compressor Pedal

From your guys experience what is the best pedal compressor out there?

even more importantly, it sounds good.

Aphex Punch Factory

+1 to that, although I still need to have my MXR Super Comp around to perform a true A/B comparison and verify the Punch Factory's superiority.

The MXR Super Comp IS a great compressor (even on bass), but I feel that the Aphex Punch Factory may indeed be a better compressor.

I'll get back to you on it once I figure it out!

Demeter OptoCompulator. You can get anything from modest compression to full on breather-style overcompression and your tone is still your own.

Not bad. I like my rocktron better. I have heard great stuff about EBS, which was mentioned here as well, but have never tried them personally.

I have a PreSonus BlueMax half-rack compressor unit but I never use it anymore. I also have the Demeter Compulator. It's quite nice however I wish it had a more sensitive knee. Sometimes it can affect the tone more than I'd like it to. Anymore, I just plug straight in. I, too have heard nothing but great things about the EBS black series, despite their high price.

I know it is baaaaad, but I like compression for some things.

I really like the tech21 basscompactor with passive basses for R&B.
I am not as happy with the BBE B-Max built-in "soft knee."

EBS is gooood...IMHO.
