Best delay pedals for under $200?

Almost went for the Hazari... but lovin the Deja Vu. I liked the organic sound of the analog side. If I didn't have one already - I'd take it for sure! Why do you like the Hazari over the Deja Vu out of curiosity?

bumping this thread because I'm looking for a delay. My first thought was a Boss DD-7, because I want tap tempo and long delay time. Not set on digital or analog yet. Reading through a bunch of threads... the Deluxe Memory Boy looks like a contender. Problem is I'm looking for used, and since these just hit the market there isn't any used ones yet. (same problem with the Markbass Compressore) Also intrigued by the Malekko 919, but that's not even released yet?

I just saw this topic got bumped and forgot that I started it, hehe. I would say for me the best delay is actually the DD-3. I don't need bells and whistles, and the DD-3 sounds the best of all the delays I have tried. I tried to replace it with an RV-3 but its delays had a noise level that just isn't present in the DD3(also I had no use for the reverb lol). The DD-3 is pure clean delays that are easy to set in an instant. What more could I want?

Another funny thing about this topic is that I never owned an effects pedal before creating it. I've probably bought/sold about 20 pedals total since then. I have a much much MUCH better understanding of effect pedals and how they sound and what I'm looking for in a specific pedal. I couldn't have done it without you , Talkbass! :)

Feel the same way. I recently got a Boss DD-2 in very good condition that I picked up on the cheap. Sold my newer-version Taiwan-made DD-3 (which covered the cost of the DD-2) after I A/B'ed them. They periodically come up for sale on harmonycentral or thegearpage.

I had a DL4 and while I loved the delays I wound up using it to loop more than the delays.

It sucks tone. Boss would be the idea way to go as far as tone suckage is concerned that I can vouch for, but the DL4 is a great delay unit provided you also have the expression pedal,

very awesome or really diappointing

i've never found that any boss delay pedal "sucked tone". How do you mean?
