So many different flavours - it's like asking what the best ice cream is. Chocolate, obviously.

My favourite flavours:

Bearfoot FX Blueberry, Catalinbread SFT or Darkglass Vintage for vintage warmth. Darkglass B3K/B7K if you're into more metallic tones. Xotic BB if you want old-skool-Black-Sabbath-my-amp-is-about-to-explode sounds. Boss ODB-3 for full bore distortion. Team Awesome Fuzz Machine for creamy dynamic fuzz.

Wait...do you want overdrive, or distortion? They ARE different things.

If you want overdrive, I am a huge fan of the Pigtronix Fat Drive.

You want fuzz? Don't f around. Get a Malekko Diaboliq.

I use a Z-Vex Super Duper and a modded GGG Turbo RAT clone.

You've got to find what works for you.

I really dig the Boss HM-2 but its a sound that wouldn't work well in many areas.
