Best Female Singing Voice

It's none other than Hamish Stuart, original member of Average White Band on bass. He played guitar on most of the tracks on the album Chaka. With the exception of the song The Message in the Middle of the Bottom, where he played bass. Hamish is also a very good singer.

He's great! He played in Paul McCartney's band for years in the 80's and 90's.

I hadn't seen this thread even though I'm on her a LOT. But within reading through 32 pages I would have to vote for Karen Carpenter. Her voice was mesmerizing.

While flipping channels last night I decided I forgot one voice I should’ve included. Besides the fact she writes her own music (RESPECT), Alicia Keys has one of the strongest and emotional charges voices in modern music today. She definitely deserves consideration on the All Time list.

I have a harder time finding personality (as in not sounding generic) in female voces than in male ones (old fart, I have a hard time telling Taylor Swift apart from Katie Perry or Ariana Grande or whomever teenpop stars). Still I've really bonded with the styles of such diverse acts as The Supremes, Aretha Franklin, Fiona Apple, PJ Harvey, Björk, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Skin, Gwen Stefani or Beth from The Gossip. Couldn't choose one really, but if I had to (forced at gunpoint) I'd say Aretha, by a fender (or "buy a Fender", what do I know).
