Double Bass Best flightcase?

Hallo,

I am looking for the best flightcase existing. I have been using Stevensson last years, but I am looking for something smaller, lighter but as secure.

At the moment I am thinking about Gage or the Invalid Link Removed.

Anyone who could recommend any of those or maybe something else?

All advices are welcome!

Best regards

I would check out the Kolstein cases, they are considerably lighter now (from 60 to 70 pounds) I used to have one of the old ones I bought in 1990 and used it until a couple of years ago and never had a problem travelling with my basses from US to Puerto Rico and several times between europe and PR. They were too big and heavy though for modern needs but recently I used one of the newer models on loan (that one was 70 pounds) and was also smaller and easier to handle than the old model I had.
Thay may not be the lightest models but they are damn safe in my experience. and you can get good deals on used models, just try to get one of the 60 pound models since its getting so expensive to travel with the bass due to weigh (especially en europe every extra kilo after 20 or 25 kilos can cost $25 dollars or more...
