Best FX?

i want some sick effects but i dont want to sound fake and i dont want a toy i want a serious fx unit that will compliment my playing any suggestions? price aint an issue

Lessons, yes, that's what's going to make you sound badass--NO effect can do that for you. You need something there in the first place, effects can help, but do not create.

On a more helpful note, what are you looking for? What types of music do you play? Do you use any effects now? Really, we need more information to be of any use.

Welcome to TB, NYC. For starters, you're going to need to be a bit more specific about what kind of sound you want. "Sick" is pretty non-descriptive - unless you want your bass to sound like someone puking, and I'm not sure there's one specific pedal for that. I suggest taking a trip to your local music store and plugging a bass into a bunch of different things to see what they do for yourself. Once you have an idea about what each type of effect does to your sound, you can start narrowing down your search for the "best" one. And remember, "best" for me might not be "best" for you. If there was only one "best", we'd have nothing to talk about here.
