Folding carts and old suitcases are your friends. I tried several carts and finally found the one that works for me. It folds up and expands in size as needed, now my personal load in/load out is one trip each way. Instead of spending big bucks for fancy flight cases before you need them, find sturdy old suitcases at Goodwill for all your small stuff. Put together a small tool kit with adjustable wrenches, pliers, multi-bit screwdriver, pocket knife, Allen wrenches, and any other small tools you think you might need. Don't forget gaffers tape, spare batteries, and spare strings (mostly for guitar). Dedicated padded bags for mics are worth the expense; I have have two bags designed to protect and transport my mics. Damage one mic in transport and you'll know why a protective bag is a good choice. And as others have said; co-ordinate the setup dance so you're not wasting time bumping in to each other. Figure out the best system to load your gear in your vehicle, and do it the same way each time. Then have fun!!
