Best IEM buds in the $200-300 range?

I have the shure 215 single drivers and while good for money I want something a little clearer and better in a full band setting. I have 300 to spend but that's my max. Been seeing that Aurisonics ASGG Bass buds are aupposed to be real good. Anyone have any suggestions in this price range?

My advice, and I mean this sincerely, and humbly, it's what I (try really hard to...) do....

You saved $300 and you have the 215s that you are used to, even though you want something better...

Keep using the 215s a bit longer and save your money for a little longer to get you into better set of IEMs.

(EDIT - Sorry, I just saw the question about the Aurisonics. Not familiar w it them, hopefully someone else is...)

$400 gets you into the territory of the Westone UM30s. My favorite 3-driver generic IEM. Sounds GREAT, just work to get a good ear seal.

$500 and up gets you into the 1964 Ears category, or other custom-mold IEM brands, as recommended by fellow TBers.

I don't want to spend a nickel more than necessary for anything (said the guy who bought a $900 B-stock Fender Precision V with a neck problem and paid $400 locally for an attempt to get it right, but it isn't right yet...Arggh....). But north of $400 seems to be the point of getting into pro quality IEMs that serve bassists really well.

Of course, there will be other recommendations worthy of checking out. This is just my take on the amount of money you should spend or not.

Ditto with GeriO.
Been thru a whole host of ears and means of getting the sound into MY ears.
it matters not how good the equipment from source to buds, if the buds are "average", then that's what you'll get.
I can't speak for the high-dollar IEM's but ...
My advice - like GeriO's - is to continue saving and buy a decent set..

I couldn't agree more with the previous comments. In my opinion, a quality set of molded IEM's is a lifetime investment. I went into the purchase with the belief that my current set (JH Audio JH11's) were the LAST set of IEM's I would buy and I'm glad I did. I'm having amp problems, playing my last 2 gigs ampless, and am seriously considering making it my permanent solution. It's my belief you can't do that with mediocre buds.

I use Westone UM2's, very good off the shelf two way and you can get them for less then $300.

shure 215 are really good, save money like Geri O wrote and get something that's a really big leap in sound quality.

They are adequate and you get what you pay for them. I have them as my backup set. Also the Shure buds are very difficult to change the tips.

I actually went with a set of Aurisonics ASGB Bass buds. These blow the Westones Pro20 I tried out of the water. If you get a chance check their website out. They are extremely high quality and a bass players dream for bass depth.
