Best Jazz 5 you ever played

Best Jazz 5 I have ever played

I had a Roscoe jazz 5 (that came with Honey Badger P/J pickups) made for me that was hands down the best playing, sounding and feeling bass I've ever had. It was literally perfect in every way, except one: It was *heavy.* I mean, 12+ lbs. So heavy that I couldn't do a gig with it without physical pain. Broke my heart to sell that thing....

In 2018, I tested out a Sadowsky NYC 5 string in the Bass Shop in San Diego (RIP). It was the nicest 5 string Jazz style bass I have ever played! The QC was impeccable and it sounded very bright and snappy. It felt like I was test driving a very nice sports car. I didn't want to go too crazy with it because the store was tiny and I didn't want to annoy anyone TBH. I was chatting with the store's owner and he said that I would get along with Roger Sadowsky because we thought alike. I thought that was really cool!

I also owned a Fender American Standard Jazz V at the time. That's the second nicest Jazz V I've ever played (and the only 5 string Jazz I've ever owned). I much prefer Rickenbackers (and 4 string basses) nowadays, but I loved Jazz style basses just as much in the 2010s for whatever reason.
