Best Jazz 5 you ever played

Of the Jazz Basses I've owned, overall I would go with a Dingwall Super J5 and a Mike Lull M5V (34" scale length).
The Fender Roscoe Beck V sounded best as a traditional Jazz, but it was big and heavy. I also briefly owned a light weight Lakland Skyline DJ5 that was also very nice. I prefer 34" scale length for playability and 18mm bridge string spacing and a narrow(ish) nut.
That being said, I gravitate towards PJ's so that's what I have played the most over the past 15-20 years.

I voted Lull, but my Wilkins is right there with it.
This Lull is active, but the player is getting a very passive sound out of it. Maybe the preamp is off?
Alleva Coppolo as an all round package.
I have a great playing J5 from another high end build but the LM5 slays it for sound.
And everything else I have for that matter.
Sits beautifully and all my bass playing friends comment on it.
I tend to like the LG5 better but its not there yet, dialed in.

The Elricks made in the Czech Republic are the best in my opinion .
A true jazz bass with 24 frets ; they really kick ass !!
The nyc Sadowsky modern 5 from the 90’s with EMG pickups was also a killer bass .
Spector made a few jazz style basses with a badass bridge; those are Also great basses (but only were built in 4 string configuration).
If you want your bass to sound Vintage, then the early 1995 Hamer Cruise bass with the larger base plate 2tek bridge and flatwound strings is unsurpassable! Totally passive bass that plays and sounds amazing !

Yes I have one and I love it! Now they will only do it as a master-build, but I think this was not always the case. I have seen some floating around that were not advertised as such. They also used to make a Reggie Hamilton Custom Shop Model that was offered in a 5 string. I definitely see a few pop up every year if you scour the net.
How well does the bass balance? Do you get any neck dive on it? I play standing and like the neck to sit quite high
No! But I sold it. Going from a Japanese Sadowsky to a Chinese is a huge downgrade
None at all. It is my post played bass and I have absolutely zero complaints. That roasted maple neck
