Best looking jazz bass?

I can't believe I missed this thread until now...

Someone else has posted one, but for me, the best combo is black/tort/rosewood/black. (the 3TS/tort/rosewood/maple is the all-time, but like Stairway to Heaven, can't be properly assessed due to overexposure...)

Here's a '63.

I first saw one played by Ron Blair of The Heartbreakers, and I couldn't take my eyes off it. So much so that I took an old '91-92 pre-fire Mexican Standard and had it refinished. Vintage style threaded bridge, SJB-1's, vintage style pickguard, pull bar, and decal rounded it out. I need to dim the dots a bit and throw some vintage tuners on there. The picture is crap, but you get the idea...

Hi guys, I am glad you like it, the story is quite simple.
I live Venice in Italy.
In 1979 I started play bass in a punk rock band and bought an Eko bass guitar for 20 Bucks and played it until a couple of years later,
our singer while high on booze, stepped on it breaking the headstock,
so I shopped around and had the chance to buy the Jazz in a shop in the mainland
for the equivalent of 200 Bucks and I still have it. It's still in a great shape a plays wonderfully!

Surfing the net I discovered at least 3 other guys, here in Italy,own the very same Jazz, same year, same color as mine.
Even the serial numbers are very close to each others. It seems like they imported quite a few of them at the time.
I also found out that, to save money on the shipping, the importers had them shipped without case and had them made here in Italy,
in fact my case is not the original one, the rectangular one, but it's teardrop shaped.

I hope I didn't bore you.

Not a Fender Jazz Bass, but a 2014 Warmoth J neck & P body, 2 Dimarzio Area J pickups, Fender vintage bridge, and Gotoh vintage reverse tuners.

I don't nominate it for best looking, but it is exactly the "Jazz Bass" that i wanted.

(The 2 black basses are older Warmoth PJ and JJ basses)
