IMO nothing catches the eye more than a Ric 4003.

I generally dig basses with a vintage vibe, like Fenders, Rics, and semi-hollows. But since finish is a huge part of appearance, G&L is way up there because IMO they produce the best finishes, hands down, almost regardless of price. Music Man produces great finishes too, but G&L's paint jobs have that extra visual "pop" that sets them apart.

Totally man. I love a good flake finish like G&L does - some find them tacky but I can see myself with one one of these days, in green.

Most warwicks are def up there IMO.

After spending some years with so-called boutique basses (utterly BS and money throwing in most cases) I returned happily to basics as tweaked Precisions, Musicman and above all Warwick Thumb NT and Streamer, as most of other Warwicks.
After replacing PUs and electronics, as well as, choosing right strings some of my several Warwicks simply sound on par with anything 2 or 3 times costlier.
