Best Modern Muff for Bass in 2022?

There are always muff variations coming and going in and out of favor. I want to know what you think the best muff you can buy right now is! Vintage? Something from EHX? Wren & Cuff? Other variations or boutique builders? Let’s discuss!

Personally, I like a muff that resembles a Tall Font but has less of a mid scoop and maybe a clean blend. Anything like that out there? What’s the best?

I still love my Blackout Musket v2. It doesn't have a clean blend but I don't think it needs one, and I never really liked a clean blend on a Big Muff circuit anyways. It always sounds weird blending a ripping fuzz sound with a squeaky clean sound.

I believe it's based on a Civil War muff, so Russian in character but more mids right off the bat.

Bluebeard (w/tone bypass) is my favorite, but they aren't in production right now, and who knows if any more will ever be built.

Magick Fuzz is 2nd place, and is a bit easier to find, though it looks like the current batch is sold out.

Both are "Ram's Head" style Muffs rather than "Tall Font." I personally prefer the midrange of Rams over Russian/Civil War/Black Muffs.

The EHX Sovtek Deluxe has beaten out many Muffs for me.
It has footswitchable mids, gate, clean blend and the right tone for me.

I second EHX Green Russian Big Muff. It sounds so freaking good. No low end loss (unless you crank the tone all the way up).
If not that, then try out the SourceAudio UltraWave, which can let you do all _sorts_ of things beyond some awesome Muff variations.

Edit: Adding the youtube video that got me most excited about this pedal back when I bought it:

Funny how different individual preferences are. I'd pay extra to have a Pork and Pickle without the Pickle part (but in that size), as I can't imagine that sound ever being useful in my world.

I change 'em out a lot. Right now I'm digging the Wampler Jupiter, EHX Nano Bass Muff, and Chicago Stompworks RamsHead on my bass boards. The former is modern, lotsa gain, the middle is very flexible (I like the blend, too) and the latter is a cool version of a RamsHead, what I like on bass.

I was using the Green Russian and loving it, just switched it out because. That Sovtek Deluxe is so good, but it's big.
