Best Muff?

I have the newer (reissued) russian one, it sounds good to me. You can get it from most any big music store (Sam Ash, Musicians Friend...) or on ebay, which is where I got mine. I paid around $50 for it with shipping, brand new in the wooden EH box. I use it straight or with a wah for a Cliff Burtonish sound, and I mix it with a chorus pedal for a more modern sounding distortion. Sorry I don't have any clips to post right now :(

Personally, if you're looking for a Big Muff (and not a variant) I'd say the modern American Reissue. It's true bypass, good bass response, and other than that, it just looks cool. Out of roughly thirty Muffs and their variants, most have been USA Reissues for a good reason.

look between your legs at the junction, then you'll likely see a muff....

seriously, it's a well know fuzz pedal for guitar that happens to be excellent on bass!!

its built by Electro harmonic NYC, which make pedals in the town
but there is also a russian big muff which is cooler for bass, and cheaper also, big muffs are quite cheap
